The Singles Jukebox League of Nations Jan-Jun 2012
It’s halfway through 2012, and on The Singles Jukebox we’ve reviewed 397 songs. The mean score so far is 5.48, a slight increase from the 5.38 up to the end of March.
I did a performance by artist nationality comparison at the end of Q1, so below is an update. Easily the best and worst scoring nations are actually Chile and Barbados (averages of 7.67 and 3.51 respectively) but those are from tiny sample sizes. DJ Raff and Alex Anwandter are the only two Chileans we have covered and are both in our top 20 songs of the year! Cover Drive are chiefly responsible for Barbados’ plight.
Only places with more than 5 songs included in the table - I know Scandinavia isn’t a country but have grouped it together again for now. We will probably have enough to separate out Sweden and Denmark by next time. Australia is a new addition right in the middle. The ranking is otherwise exactly the same as last time, but Canada is making good progress since it was on 4.56 before!
